Community initiatives

Knox Shopping Centre is committed to supporting a wide variety of community based activities and organisations that deliver real benefits to the people who live, work and play in the City of Knox.  The centre supports a number of charities including those listed below:

Knox Police
Code One
Building relationships with local Police and allowing the Police Band, Code One, and the Police Showband, to perform in Melbourne Circle.

Police Bikes
Bikes were donated through a partnership between Knox Council, Knox City Shopping Centre and the Apollo Bike Company.

The Knox Police bike patrol unit was recently given the $5000 bikes after donating its old ones to the Swinburne TAFE for educational purposes. The Police Bikes have helped with crime-related problems that were identified in the local area which required the use of the bike patrol unit.

Education Week
Education Week is a fantastic opportunity for Knox Shopping Centre to help support the local government schools showcase and provide a greater platform for their schools to reach a wider audience. An in-centre display is set up allowing schools to showcase different learning opportunities offered by the school.

Mall Walking
Mall Walking is a health and fitness initiative offered free of charge at Knox Shopping Centre.  The Mall Walking program enables men, women and children of all ages the opportunity to walk for fun and fitness in a safe “all weather” venue. Mall Walkers meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 7.30am on Level 1 near the Medicare entrance.  To become a Mall Walker ring 9801-5966 or visit the Customer Service Desk on Level 2 (near Rebel Sport).

Knox Raiders
Knox Shopping Centre has been sponsoring the Knox Raiders for several years. This partnership allows the Knox Raiders to purchase teaching and coaching equipment required for support programs.

Literacy Program
Knox Shopping Centre participates in a literacy program at Wantirna South Primary School. The program allows students with reading difficulties to have one on one lessons.

Heart Foundation
Knox Shopping Centre supports the Heart Foundation by selling merchandise at Customer Service, located on Level 2, near Rebel Sport and Centre Management Reception.
