Swing, sing and shine
The story behind...Swarovski’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection
Swarovski’s “Swing, Sing and Shine” collection is a tribute to vintage styling and an ode to the lights, camera and action of the entertainment world – a topic that has been intrinsically linked to the company for many decades.
Creative Director Nathalie Colin uses the Spring/Summer 2012 jewellery and accessory collection to tell the story of a multifaceted young woman as she evolves from a student to that of a starlet becoming accustomed to fame and the limelight.
Set against a backdrop of pastel colors, bright balloons and floral impressions associated with the flower and circle symbols of the golden era of the 1960’s, our muse attends a prom ball with a group of friends. Amidst the joy and glamour of this vibrant event, a casting is held for an American musical comedy hence setting the scenes throughout the ‘Sweet Sixties’ and ‘In the Spotlight’ themes.
Among these young ladies, one shines in particular through her grace, and femininity, to eventually win the part. Incredibly elegant, she sparkles with glamour and a sense of lightness, and soon begins preparing for the leadrole in the famous musical comedy.
The “Swing, Sing, and Shine” Swarovski Spring/Summer 2012 musical is set to be a color-filled blockbuster, where the star radiates in crystal as she performs an unforgettable, multifaceted role.
